Maamoul is Lebanon’s answer to shortbread cookies and is usually found on the tables of Middle Eastern families during celebratory events like Eid. These buttery semolina cookies are usually stuffed with dates but here we use fig jam, walnuts, and pistachios. Traditionally, they are made using special wooden Maamoul molds -if you don’t have any molds on hand, just form the dough and decorate with a fork. 5. Addictive Flourless Peanut Butter Gula Melaka Cookies

Who doesn’t love peanut butter? This easy-peasy recipe gives you an excuse to stop eating peanut butter out of the jar and turn it into a legitimate melt-in-your-mouth cookie creation. You can use chunky or smooth peanut butter for it (we recommend smooth for a nicer texture), and even other nut butters if you don’t have peanut butter on hand. As these Peanut Butter Cookies are flourless, be sure not to over bake them, as they would become all crumbly.

6. Kabsa Saudi (Meat and Veg Cashew Saffron Rice)

Known to some as Saudi Arabia's national dish, Kabsa is a meat and rice dish that has gained popularity throughout the Middle-East and beyond. The leg of lamb is slowly simmered in a sauce of spices, a big sprinkle of cashew nuts as well as tomatoes before the rice is cooked in the meaty tomato broth. The addition of saffron and rose water gives this dish its vibrant vermilion color and sweet fragrance. Kabsa is usually served during big gatherings so expect to be cooking for more than one. And if you're not a fan of lamb, substitute it with chicken or any other protein.

7. Tauhu Goreng (Tofu with Caramelised Peanut Sauce)

“Don’t judge a dish by its cover” is an idiom that describes the Tauhu Goreng. A beautiful brown mess of deep fried tofu slathered in roasted ground peanuts, and caramelized sweet and spicy sauce made from Gula Melaka, tamarind, dark soy sauce, chillies and garlic. For a splash of colour and crunch, serve over a bed of cucumber and beansprouts!

8. Flavoursome Nutritious Quinoa Gado Gado (Indonesian Salad)

Labelled one of the top five national dishes of Indonesia, the Gado Gado brims with tasty treasures. A salad of lightly blanched vegetables tossed with fried bean curd and tempeh, topped off with savoury creamy peanut sauce. Instead of boiled potatoes, we use quinoa for a nutritional kick! Enjoy this dish fresh, or chilled from the refrigerator.

9. Peanut Butter & Flaxseed Energy Balls

If you've got nuts, you know they make great energy bars. In this case, we've made it even simpler, with a few circles in your palms, and straight into the fridge to harden and cool. Popping it in your mouth is even easier, you go hands-free so much more quickly than biting through a bar. The mix here is chewy, crunchy, sweet and savoury - pretty much everything you need in a delicious keep-on-going day. We used sliced almonds (toasted for the extra smoked edged), flaxseed, cranberries, rolled oats as the brittle part of it. And to pull this all together, we turned to good ole' peanut butter, and honey. Totally tasty.

10. Lotus Root Soup with Soft Big Peanuts

A light Chinese soup eaten anytime and especially at Chinese New Year. Sip slowly the fat-infused chicken soup naturally sweetened with lotus root and big soft peanuts for a nutty, silky finish in between swirling herbal garlic and ginger bits.
