Well, we're nearly half-way there (through the Circuit Breaker at least), and if like us, you're missing the quick, delicious food of your hawker centre, or the smells of your neighbourhood bakery, look through this handy guide for so many of the "outside food" we wish we could buy now and get a bite of. Most of them do their own deliveries, and are not found on major food delivery platforms like Grab, Deliveroo and Food Panda, and you'll need to Whatsapp or Facebook Message them to get some right to your doorstep.

This original kampung food-cart selling kueh is now recognised as a UNESCO heritage hawker. How amazing is that? People love the oval colourful sticky kuehs, or Ang Ku Kueh. Besides the old-school flavours, they also make Durian Ang Ku Kueh, and Sweet Potato Skin Ang Ku Kueh. But there are other delights too, like a cold Peranakan classic, Gula Melaka Kueh Kosui (pictured above) that's typically dusted with sweet shredded coconut. And, if you like high tea at home, they offer kueh platters at $22.40 for 2-3 pax.

A mother-child team selling similar ice-cream blocks, but with added flavours like old-school Attap Seed and Nata de Coco. But you might have to go without waffle biscuits as their Malaysian supplier has run out. Though, rainbow bread, the colourful fluffy ice-cream companion is still available, at a limited quantity. Similar to Lao Chuan Tong Traditional Ice Cream, their ice cream slabs are going for $8 per slab.

Golden Mile Food Centre is a hotbed of great local food, and one of them includes a golden Deep-Fried Banana Stall, or Kee's Goreng Pisang that's been selling that sweet fruit for over 15 years now. Choose from 4 sizes: king, large, medium and bite-size (subject to availability). Not just bananas though, there's sweet potato, yam, tapioca cake, caramelised glutinous rice cake, chempedak and more.

7. Traditional Chinese Desserts

Like most of the stalls here, this one's too, a family-run dessert stall at Middle Road's Fortune Centre. Among the various sweet Chinese soups, the top seller, a bowl of creamy Walnut Paste, is viewed as healthier than other sweet soups, and worth a try.

The Fatcaron, or Korean Macaron bake trend might have come and went last year. But in this bakery, Nanatang, it seems to be still enjoying its moment. The Fatcaron is, as the name suggests, a more cream-filled and bigger version of the macaron and offers a more satisfying bite for some. Nanatang conducts online classes on how to make selected bakes, including teaching cake designs too.
