Singapore’s growing craft beer scene has been going from strength to strength these last few years, and Thirty Six Brewlab is making a very strong bid to be its crown jewel. Opened by Lion Brewery Co, Thirty Six Brewlab is a microbrewery and restaurant that celebrates the art of craft beer, as well as the city that brewed up this amazing space.

With 23 taps, you can try Lion Brewery Co’s own signature brews, as well as rotating guest labels, and even beer brewed onsite at the 500-litre microbrewery. Personally, I’m always a fan of Lion Brewery Co’s signature Straits Pale Ale, with its fruity flavours and slight bitterness.

Although beer is the star of the show here, Thirty Six Brewlab also boasts a generous menu, centred around open-flame grilling on a custom-built brick hearth. Their Wood Fired Cauliflower features a whole head of the vegetable, seasoned with spices and then charred on the open flame. It’s seasoned with additional leek ash for extra smokiness.

The food also celebrates Asian flavours while delivering the comfort of a pub meal, with dishes like the Scotch Egg – a classic pub snack, but in this version, amped up with spicy nduja sausage and Sriracha sauce to amp up the fiery heat, Singapore style.

Nestled into a heritage building in Singapore’s city centre, Thirty Six Brewlab also celebrates local treasures, with pieces by local artists like Sue Gray and Jamie Tan adorning its walls. The team here is passionate about celebrating local craft, so look out for special events, workshops and collaborations at Thirty Six Brewlab. Otherwise, it’s also just an awesome, fun place to come with a few friends, tuck yourselves into a cosy corner and while the day or night away with good food and lots of good brews.
