Ingredients

  • 300 g minced lamb 

  • 1 cup greek yogurt 

  • ¼ cup tahina 

  • ½ cup mangoes (small diced)

  • ½ lemon (juiced and rind)

  • 4 tbsp mint (chopped) reserved 2 tbsp for yogurt sauce

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp parsley (chopped)

  • 1 red onion (minced)

  • 2 garlic cloves (minced) 

  • 2 bird eye chilli (minced)

  • 2 tsp ground cumin 

  • 2 tsp ground coriander 

  • 2 tsp black pepper  

  • 1 tsp sugar 

  • pinch of salt 

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Lamb Kofta with Spicy Yoghurt Sauce

Perfect for appetizers during dinner. The spicy mango yogurt sauce provides a great balance in flavour for the lamb meatballs. Yogurt also provides probiotic that is essential for digestive system.

Instructions

  1. Bake kofta

    • In a large bowl, combine minced lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, black pepper, salt, parsley, coriander leaves and mint. Mix well.
    • Using your hands form into small balls.
    • Place it on a baking tray and drizzle with 2 tbsp of olive oil. Pre-heat oven at 180 d C.
    • Bake lamb koftas for 2515to 320 mins or till browned.
    • Remove from oven.


  2. Make sauce

    • In a medium size bowl, combine diced mango, lemon juice, lemon rind, salt, bird eye chilli, sugar, chopped mint. Mix well.


Plate and Serve!

Arrange meatballs in a platter. Serve with spicy yogurt sauce
