You can now go vegetarian with this Meat Free Mee Pok recipe! Here, the signature springy flat noodles is topped with Quorn’s meatless mince which is sautéed with two different kinds of mushrooms and tastefully seasoned with vegetable stock, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce as well as a pinch of sugar and pepper. Serve this flavorful combination with a healthy portion of choy sum for an all-round wholesome meal.

Instructions

  1. Cooking the noodles

    • Poach vegan Mee Pok (vegan flat noodles) in boiling water for 3-5mins and rinse them in cold water to cool them down.

    • Drain and set aside.

  2. Cooking the braised ingredients

    • Heat up pan on medium heat. Add oil, oyster mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms and sauté till fragrant.
    • Add in prepped Quorn Meat Free Mince and stir.
    • Add vegetarian oyster sauce, vegetable stock and sugar to the mixture, bring it to boil.
    • Season with white pepper powder and dark soy sauce. Mix well

  3. Putting it together

    • Add in Mee Pok and braise in mixture till the noodles reach the desired consistency. For softer noodles, cook them longer.
